Traditionally newlyweds celebrate their marriage and get to know each other intimately during their honeymoon. Honeymoons are designed to be romantic, secluded and special. However recend trends has newlyweds honeymooning in tourist areas and taking adventure vacations.
How do you decide where to go on your honeymoon? It depends on your personalities, and what you want to do while on your honeymoon. If you want to stay locked in your room and get room service delivered every day, you would probably not consider going camping. You might love the nightlife and want to see some shows or go shopping. Or you might simply want to go to the beach and enjoy each other.
Make sure to plan together -- not necessarily specifics but what you each want to do. Would you like to travel internationally? Would you like a lazy and relaxing get-away? Regardless of where you end up going, here are some tips to help you eliminate some of the stress of planning your honeymoon.
1. Find a good travel agent. They can certainly find you a whole honeymoon package and help you stay in your budget.
2. Plan your budget and what your priorities are. What are you willing to do without and what options are necessities?
3. Start planning your honeymoon early. You can get better deals and have a better chance of getting good reservations if you plan early.
4. Expect the unexpected. Not everything will be perfect. If you have a good attitude and just try to enjoy being together you'll have a good time. Don't stress.
5. Tell people you're on your honeymoon. Many restaurants will offer free champagne and hotels may leave you a gift basket in your room. People want to help you celebrate -- so let them.
